Luke Peter son – Founder & Director

Luke Peterson is the Founder and Director of Ironspec Equipment, bringing over 20 years of experience across mining, civil and heavy mechanical operations throughout Western Australia.

Luke spent more than 10 years working across remote FIFO mining operations, developing extensive expertise in diagnostics, fault finding, preventative maintenance, and complex mechanical repairs in high-pressure, production-critical environments. This hands-on experience gave him a deep understanding of how and why machines fail—and more importantly, how to prevent downtime before it impacts operations.

Building on his technical background, Luke went on to establish a labour supply business to the mining industry, providing skilled trades including diesel mechanics, automotive mechanics, auto electricians, boilermakers/welders, and trade assistants. Through this business, he gained strong experience in workforce management, site compliance, mobilization, and supporting large-scale mining projects.  In 2021, Luke founded Ironspec Equipment, combining his mechanical expertise, operational knowledge and commercial insight to deliver reliable, fit-for-purpose equipment solutions to the mining and civil sectors. Ironspec was built with a clear focus on operational reliability, fast mobilisation and onsite support, backed by real-world mechanical experience.

His background in diagnostics, repairs and business ownership gives clients confidence that their equipment is supported by someone who truly understands what it takes to keep projects moving
